- Why Guild?
- Like most adolescent boys during the 1980s, I spent a lot of time playing video games. My favorite was The Bard's Tale: Tales of the Unknown. The basic premise of the game was to form a band of young fighters and to improve their diverse skills through various adventures so as to kill the evil wizard Managar the Dark. At the guild, fighters improved their skills and developed the courage to fight the next fight. Through song and drink, Bards celebrated victories and lamented their defeats. This guild concept stuck with me and serves as a nice metaphor for the work of the visual display guild.
