(How would one go about contacting a bureaucrat? Just leave a message on this page? What if one wanted to contact them privately? Just noticed a suggestion to contact them that led to this page, which gives a definition but not contact instructions. -[[User:Peteforsyth|Pete]] 22:41, 2 January 2008 (PST))

Bureaucrats are AboutUs people who have bureaucrat rights.

Aside from the responsibilities of System Administrators, bureaucrats have the ability to grant (and revoke) system administrator or bureaucrat status to other people. This ability is used periodically to ensure the wiki has an ample number of active, capable administrators.

Bureaucrats and Administrators can also rename peoples accounts. For a listing of all current bureaucrats, see Special:Listusers/bureaucrat.

A list of bureaucrats can be found here, please leave a message on any of their talk pages or email them if communication needs to be private.
