What (summary)
Visually clarify the information presented on the Homepage
Why this is important
The homepage is way too busy in its current state. New, and experienced, users are overwhelmed with the content and points of navigation. Clarifying the communication will make the page more useful and help it become a point of return.
Delaying Work
In implementing the AB Testing of various types, including the front page, I am pushing back the work on the front page redesign until we better assess what content/message we need.
DoneDone
This is done when:
- Vinh has gathered feedback on the design proposal from the
PortlandStaff and community - The design proposal has been implemented (it's live on the front page)
- Vinh feels that the implementation is "good enough"
Steps to get to DoneDone
Discussion
- This is a mock-up at WikiTest that seems to be the new design, without full consensus on messaging. Can we get that new design up while the AB testing is going on, with further changes happening as we go? TedErnst | talk 10:35, 15 November 2007 (PST)
