Title

Native American Art: The Storyteller's House

Description

I was born January 1983 in Rochester, New York and spent my first 11 years there before moving with my family to Akwesasne.

My grandfather is of the Bear clan and was born and raised in Akwesasne, my grandmother is of The Turtle Clan and grew up in Rochester where they raised seven children.

Often native people in the city lose their identity, however my mother and her siblings were fortunate enough to have parents who believed in the Onkwehonwe teachings, and passed that knowledge down.
