Title
Georgia Teachers Organization, retirement bill
Description
The Georgia Teachers Organization was formed by volunteer Georgia educators during the fall of 2000. All persons working for the organization are "volunteer Georgia educators" seeking to improve the teaching profession in Georgia. Our goals and objectives include items that will help improve educator morale in Georgia.
Our organization firmly believes that the best way to improve education in Georgia is to provide a quality, highly compensated, high morale, and professional work force in Georgia’s classrooms. One of our main goals is to obtain a 25-year (no penalty) retirement benefit for members of the Georgia teacher retirement system. Other benefits of organization membership are outlined on the homepage of this web site. The small annual membership fee (only $25.00) helps the organization communicate, publicize and obtain our goals and objectives.
We are currently seeking volunteers for our state advisory committee. We urge all Georgia educators to join and if interested contact us concerning the advisory committee. Please contact us if you have additional questions concerning the Georgia Teachers Organization.
