- SRM Engineering was founded in 1980 by BSA enthusiast, Steve McFarlane, who expanded and eventually sold the company to two of his employees, Gary Hearl and Paul Dewhurst, in 1992. Another two partners were taken on board so the company could immediately expand and fulfill our dreams of running an elite and respected specialist engineering company, dedicated to classic bikes. We relocated to a modern purpose built premises of 5000 sq ft , and have subsequently expanded to 7,500 sq ft and now employ 9 people. Our objective was to supply much needed quality parts to fill the vacuum on the market caused by the demise of the BSA Motorcycle Co. in 1973, and try to offer an alternative to the huge amount of poor quality pattern parts available on the market place.
