So they got together, and seeing as they all had common influences such as Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, John Petrucci, Yngwie Malmsteen etc., it was decided to make a Progressive/Heavy Metal super-group. The standards were defined, the goals set, and things started to move ahead in early 2007. |

Elysium is a Progressive/Heavy Metal band. The founding members Ghazanfar, Aftab and Jibran, all good friends, had been gigging in the underground for a while with one act or another. It finally came up in late 2006, that why not make a band with their own favorite musical direction & traits. So they got together, and seeing as they all had common influences such as Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, John Petrucci, Yngwie Malmsteen etc., it was decided to make a Progressive/Heavy Metal super-group. The standards were defined, the goals set, and things started to move ahead in early 2007.
They started to look for a drummer that would fulfill their requirements. After much searching and auditioning Zawar joined in as the fourth member of Elysium. But he couldn't stay long, and had to leave for UK in pursuit of higher studies.
Meanwhile, they met up with Rafay Khan, and after a couple of jams, Rafay was taken up as the vocalist for the band. At the moment, the band is in the writing phase, and their first original will be out by October inshallah.
