Title
Democracy In Action: Technology for the Masses: Affordable Online Campaign Tools and Services
Description
Mission
Our mission is to develop and promote tools and infrastructure that facilitate the growth and vitality of organizations and networks who share ecological and social justice values by enhancing their ability to reach and facilitate individual participation in the democratic process.
Our goal is make online advocacy tools accessible to all nonprofits in order to strengthen civil society by enabling people to connect, communicate, take action, and organize in a manner that is consistent with the highest principles of democracy.
History
Informed democratic participation in the policy-making process is key in any healthy democracy and the internet has given many organizations a new medium to advance their goals. However, thousands of nonprofit organizations lack the capacity – both in staff and funds - to take full advantage of the technology available.
