ESIS is the Education and School Improvement Service that serves four local education authorities and their schools in the South Wales valleys. Established in 1996, ESIS is a joint working arrangement between the county borough councils of Bridgend, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf. ESIS serves nearly 400 schools and over 7,000 teachers with training, consultancy and inspection services in support of LEA school improvement programmes.
