DontLie.org hosts "Don't Lie for the Other Guy," a national public-awareness campaign aimed at preventing the illegal purchase of firearms, commonly known as straw purchasing. The campaign was developed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms industry, in partnership with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). It targets gun dealers, buyers, and the general public to discourage and report illegal firearm transactions.
