The Computer Museum of America, based in Del Mar, California, collects and preserves historic computing equipment for public education and display. Founded in 1983 by Jim and Marie Petroff — co-founders of the San Diego Chapter of the Independent Computer Consultants Association — it grew through volunteer efforts and private underwriting. The museum has accumulated one of the world's largest collections of historic computing equipment, stored across facilities throughout San Diego County.
