About bLyTheAirBase.com

Above are the insignias of the 34th Bombardment Group's four squadrons.  The history of Blythe Army Air Base is largely the story of the 34th Bomb Group.  It was this organization that spent the most time at Blythe during 1942 and 1943 prior to their deployment to combat in Europe with the 8th Air Force. Prior to World War II, Blythe Airport was established by the Civil Aeronautics Administration as an emergency landing field on the Los Angeles to Phoenix air-way.
