Philadelphia painter Christopher Wajda
After a period of training, every artist embarks on a voyage of discovery. My work has negotiated the travelled road from journeyman to painter : an artistic rebirth that contains within it my artistic vision.
My pictorial technique strives for a lyrical juxtaposition : a synergy that wells from my travels, education in the arts and personal technique. Studing the paintings of the great masters of the craft of painting, academic and philosophical schools of thought has brought me to my current style. That is the creation of my art which is expressed by the fusion of three things: My love of traditional artistic techniques of the great masters of yesteryear, a study of modern masters who have brought fresh ideas and insights into the artistic realm, combined with countless hours both in the studio and En plein air, painting subjects that speak to the heart and eyes with an equal force.
