Buying ZoneRunner from www.Zonaware.com ? DO NOT BUY IT!
ZoneRunner is Zone Diet Software sold by www.Zonaware.com. On their Downloads page they state that “The program will NEVER expire…” Well, this is not quite true. On the contrary, ZoneRunner from Zonaware.com will expire every time you upgrade to a different computer or buy a new computer. This is because ZoneRunner from Zonaware.com generates its license key based on the hardware components that are specific to each computer. When you start ZoneRunner from Zonaware.com, the program checks the code numbers of hardware components in your computer. If they have changed because you bought a new computer or made too many hardware changes, ZoneRunner from Zonaware.com will no longer function and you will have to buy a new license key for ZoneRunner from Zonaware.com.
I have been using ZoneRunner from Zonaware.com for many years and, like most people who struggle with a weight problem, have relied heavily on their program. After I bought a new computer a few years ago, I contacted Zonaware.com to generate a new license key. Although I had to wait a long time, they did supply a new key willingly since I was a registered user of ZoneRunner from Zonaware.com. So, in good faith, I continued entering my recipes and meals that I specifically developed for the Zone Diet as well as the nutritional information for my personal food items as it is listed on their nutrition labels. Entering all this into ZoneRunner from Zonaware.com took considerable time and effort and, over many years, resulted in a large personal ZoneRunner database of recipes, meals and food items. You can export the recipe database but it can only be read by ZoneRunner from Zonaware.com. If you want to have any other program read your recipes or meals, such as MSWord, you have to save each recipe or meal INDIVIDUALLY in the appropriate format, such as text, or csv.
Recently I purchased a new computer. Over a period of several months I wrote five emails to Zonaware.com, asking for a new ZoneRunner license key. No response. It became clear to me that Zonaware.com has no intentions of taking care of their registered ZoneRunner customers. On the contrary, Zonaware.com wants you to buy their program over and over again, ad infinitum. I refuse to give in to this false advertising and I will not buy ZoneRunner again when I have already paid for it. Instead, I bought a different program from another company. What saddens me is that all my work on my recipes, meals and personal food items is now lost because I trusted their ZoneRunner’s statement on the Zonaware.com website that their program will never expire.
