Description
Excerpted from the website description:
- Seeing for me is everything, and has always been. My pieces come from my vision of the world; a place of color, pattern and form. I have no desire to divine any meaning from them, short of the simple act of perception and your response. I’ve been making art my whole life. Searching for ways to express my lack of a conventional sensibility in ways others could relate to. I surround myself with my art, transforming my environment into something that feeds my eyes. My space is always changing, like my work. I crave new visual stimulus, it feeds my curiousity and my soul. The closest I come to a philosophy is best stated in a quote from Geothe, Thinking is more interesting than knowing, but less interesting than looking. I found my art form in clay. I love the technical challenges of ceramics and glaze, and its raw expanse of form, texture and color. Others often describe my work as joyous or whimsical and I’m glad they see it. For me though my pieces are no more or less than life, as I see it. The whole of life lies in the verb seeing. Z Jacobson
