- The Zittel family purchased the Marina forty-five years ago when it was primarily a boat house. The boat house was in existence even prior to World War I. In the early days, boat houses often rented boats to people who supplied their own motors. Many people didn't have the luxury of a motor so they would rent a boat and row. Over the years the Zittel's have transformed the boat house into a full service marina offering dry storage, moorage, repair services, boat rentals, dockside fuel, boat sling and ramp launches, and a tackle shop complete with lots of fishing tackle, ice, groceries and a snack bar.
