Owned by Elizabeth and Bernhard Draiscol, long-time Santa Fe residents with an extensive background in the Santa Fe restaurant business, the Zia Diner prides itself on it’s professional and friendly service. As the operating partner, Elizabeth and her staff strive to ensure that their guests feel as though they were friends dining in their homes.
Head Chef, Ahmed Obo, a native of Lamu, Kenya cooked in New York City before moving to Santa Fe in 1994. He works closely with sous-chef, John Chipman, on the extensive menu and daily specials, using only the freshest ingredients and local produce.
The Zia’s full-time managers, Nancy Duncan, Eva Nickell, Marcy Walsh and Stephanie Noel have all been with the Zia Diner for many years, overseeing the smooth operation of this lively and friendly restaurant, attending to the many and varied requests of their patrons, and training the staff to meet the highest expectations of the owner.
