Young Audiences of St. Louis
Description
Young Audiences is part of a network of 32 Young Audiences chapters and affiliates nationwide. The first chapter was formed in Baltimore in 1950. Young Audiences of St. Louis (YASTL) was founded in 1958 and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 1970.
A volunteer Board of Directors provides overall governance and leadership for Young Audiences. The Board is comprised of corporate and business leaders, educators and community volunteers. One part-time and four full-time staff members handle the organization's day-to-day operations. A growing volunteer association provides assistance in many areas.
On the average, 82% of Young Audiences' programs are presented in the Greater St. Louis area. The organization also serves schools and community sites in Illinois and in the eastern half of Missouri.
