The above inscription has been used in over 940 Commonwealth World War One cemeteries located in Belgium and France and this is our story of how it all began.
We first visited the battlefields around Ieper and the Somme in 1997 and have been visiting the same areas at least twice a year ever since.
The idea of visiting all the First World War cemeteries in France and Belgium was discussed in October 1998 while again spending a weekend in Albert visiting the Somme battlefields. We decided to try and emulate
