The West Texas Home Builders Association (WTHBA), a trade Association affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders and the Texas Association of Builders, has represented the industry since 1948. Lubbock was a new city just emerging from World War II. People were moving to Lubbock with ambition and money. On May 13, 1948 a nucleus of builders, suppliers, and subcontractors joined together to charter the "Home Builders Association of Lubbock".
