Justice means that everyone, regardless of their ability to pay, can access the quality legal advice and representation they need to protect their rights.
For more then 35 years, Legal Services of the Hudson Valley (formerly Westchester/Putnam Legal Services) has provided free, high quality civil legal services to low-income people. Our services help struggling individuals resolve urgent, non-criminal legal problems that can lead to larger social problems such as homelessness, child neglect and domestic violence. The result is strong communities where the rights of our neighbors are protected, regardless of their incomes.
Since our inception in 1967, Legal Services of the Hudson Valley handled more than 10,000 legal matters annually, benefiting over 25,000 household members involved in those legal matters. An additional 2,000 requests for assistance were made and referred to other providers.
