Description
This 40-minute sanctuary service offers organ prelude and postlude, opening and closing hymns, scripture, sermon, prayer, and special music by soloists or the choir. Some families find this service to be better suited to a younger child’s attention span. Often quieter and more contemplative, this service offers a sense of intimacy found in a smaller congregation.
Children’s church school, adult education classes and the Sunday Forum meet from 9:15-10:15 a.m. each week. The location for each class is available on bulletin boards and at the information desk.
The 10:30 traditional service in the Sanctuary is the largest weekly gathering of Westminster and makes clear the central fact of Westminster’s life: the living God made known in the person of Jesus Christ. Dignity and joy, warmth and beauty are its hallmarks, steeped in a rich Westminster tradition that engages the heart and mind through scripture and sermon, prayer, the best in organ and choral sacred music and profound silence. We celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper on the first Sunday of the month.
