Hopefully history will not be distorted and the Empire not regarded as some kind of Anglo-Saxon nationalist death-cult as many seem to treat it today, amongst the nationalists and on the left. And the Scottish contribution is also a very worthy subject, for it is certainly true that for such a small area, population-wise, Scotland did a lot to advance Britain and the Empire.
