About Us

While it is easy to exaggerate the world-changing power of the Internet, behind all the hype is a kernel of truth: computers are useful tools. With the right software, a computer can be a Spanish-English dictionary or an English class, a musical instrument or a recording studio, a pocket calculator or a math-homework helper, an online garage sale or an online bank. Because this is a tool that can be shared by many people (a family, a village, or a neighborhood) access does not have a price tag. Because individuals and institutions throw away cartloads of useable computers as they stay up-to-date, computers can be free.

About the Marie Anne Center

The Marie Anne Center is a thriving community center, located at St. Bernard's Church and run by the Sisters of St. Anne. It was established in April, 2001, to address educational and spiritual needs of families. Their goal is to provide basic education and living skills for people of the multi-ethnic, multi-lingual Lincoln St. neighborhood. In addition to the Internet Lab, the Center also offers after-school tutoring, ESL classes, a Saturday lunch program, and Spanish classes.
