Description

After a lot of research and miles on the road, Wooly Comforts now has established a high quality flock of Cotswold and Rambouillet sheep. Even though we raise our sheep for their wool, many of our ewes have done well at local and national shows.

Rambouillets are large frame sheep that produce consistent fleeces of 20-22 microns. The wool is extremely soft. The sheep are sheered with at least a 2 1/2" fiber length. We use our Rambouillet wool to produce our felted products and for our art show merchandise.

Rambouillets came from Spain's famous Merino flocks that were exported to France in the late 1700's by Louis XVI. They were called Rambouillet Merinos. The farm, Bergerie Nationale, still raises these sheep today.
