Description
The WMSD Organization is a non profit 501 (c) (3) organization based in North Smithfield, Rhode Island. The firm was founded in July, 2003 to address the growing incidence of repetitive motion musculoskeletal disorders. Arthritis and musculoskeletal disorders affect 1 in 3 people; with a growing number of people experiencing symptoms due to repetitive or strenuous activities. The firm is committed to reviewing the most current research and related information about musculoskeletal disorders and ergonomics.
The WMSD Organization’s goal is to provide people with education so they may make informed decisions with their doctor or health professional, about how to prevent repetitive motion musculoskeletal disorders and work without injury.
Kristen Boie, Executive Director and Secretary: Kristen Boie, founder, has a Master’s of Business Administration degree from Bryant University and a Bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Rhode Island. Kristen has over 10 years experience in sales, customer service, marketing and philanthropy. Kristen is an advocate for the Arthritis Foundation and has been actively involved in many volunteer and charitable causes throughout the state. As a patient who has suffered for more than 10 years with rheumatoid arthritis and discoid lupus, she understands what it is like to live with a musculoskeletal disease.
