Wilson Memorial General Hospital was constructed in 1946 as a three storey wooden building. During the year of 1966 the Hospital recognized that the existing building was inadequate to meet their needs. Plans were implemented to provide a totally new hospital at the current location. Since its opening in 1971, Wilson Memorial General Hospital has served the communities of Marathon, Heron Bay, Pic River, Mobert, and White River with excellent medical care.
