- The Western Mass Blades Midgets, compete in the Tier I Mass Select Midget Hockey League, one of the most competitive AAA Midget leagues in the Northeast. We are pleased to announce that for the 2009 midget season, past year head U16 coaches of Chris Orszulak and Bob Miele are now taking on the role as co Midget Player Directors. Their new roles will be to promote strong work ethic, discipline and focus on individual skill development and team play. They will also oversee formation of both the Tier 1 U16 & U18 teams and be on hand to help the coaches thru clinics and recommendations. Their combined knowledge will prove to be helpful for a players' development and future possible personal advancements.
