- The Winnetka Historical Society was founded in 1932. As we embark on the 21st century, we are pleased to own and operate two historic buildings in Winnetka. Our Museum and headquarters at 411 Linden Street houses gallery space and is open for research, using our reference library, photograph collections and house files. The Schmidt-Burnham Log House offers visitors a glimpse of life in the 1850s through the interpretation of costumed docents.
