Homelessness is more than a lack of shelter and represents the visible fault line transmitted by multiple traumatic forces. Each child bears a unique story of pain, often unspeakable and typically faces a harsh and almost unimaginable existence within the Sacramento community. These young people have been failed by the adults and the systems that were supposed to protect them. Some are second or third generation homeless.
