I have been fascinated with the financial markets for many years. Due to work and life style commitments my curiosity never developed beyond that of a spectator until several years ago, when the urge became too great and I 'switched teams' and went from being an over-qualified spectator to an inexperienced competitor.
The perception I had from the spectator's side of the fence was one of 'easy money for the taking'. This perception lead to initially approaching the market from a fundamental perspective. - 'All that was required was to link up with a quality brokerage firm and the rest would take care of itself'.
Some money was made but considerably more was lost. I became disillusioned with much of the advice that was being given and began to explore other avenues of market analysis. I found that technical analysis suited my approach most successfully and this was complemented by my many years of experience in drawing analysis and interpretation. The long apprenticeship of technical analysis had commenced.
