Williams Classic Chassis Works
Description
The products and services from Williams Classic Chassis Works are based on over 37 years of car building experience that originated with the construction of a '55 Chevrolet hardtop in 1963. Intended for street/strip use with a 283" small block and 4 speed, it ran mid twelves at Irwindale Raceway in the "E" Gas category back then. Still in the Family, that same car runs regularly at nearby Pomona and other nearby NHRA Division 7 drag strips in the Super Street category.
In 1971, Earle Williams officially opened as a chassis shop building a variety of race and street cars, from AA altereds, roadsters, all sorts of door slammers, Bonniville coupes and sedans, even a few boats, Harleys, and offroad race cars and trucks. His own personal hot rod was a street legal, blown alcohol- burning '71 Vega Panel. Along with Years of practical experience, a background in Engineering and High Performance Naval Aircraft Structural Mechanics, combined for a great background in developing our current line of chassis components for '55-'57 Chevrolet passenger cars.
In 1988, Earle designed and manufactured the first dropped spindle for the '55-'57 Chevrolet. Williams also is the originator of many other chassis components such as their rear spring pocket kit, ground clearance big and small block headers, both standard and ¾" forward engine side mount kits, mini-tub kits, firewall cover kits, and much more.
