Description
My name is Chris Wild and together with my husband, Tim, we run a small breeding kennel located in rural Michigan, just west of Ann Arbor. I grew up with German Shepherds and for me there has never been another breed. I have owned them for over 20 years and together Tim and I became involved in schutzhund and the working lines specifically in 1997. In addition to being avid schutzhund enthusiasts, we have taught many group and private obedience classes, and Tim worked for several years as a dog groomer. We have also assisted with the training of several police K9s, and have imprinted young dogs for the Michigan State Police.
We consider ourselves to be "hobby" breeders. We do not make a living off of dogs and breed only a very small number of litters each year. We enjoy the dogs first and foremost as our companions and partners, and our breeding program focuses on quality not quantity. We put a great deal of time and effort into planning our breedings, often spending months researching dogs and pedigrees. Breeding partners are selected very carefully based on their pedigree, their own characteristics and accomplishments, and the positive impact they will have on our own bloodline and on the German Shepherd Dog breed as a whole.
Our true love of the German Shepherd Dog stems from living and working with them, and the bond that this builds between dog and handler. We keep our kennel small and all of our dogs live in the house with us as our companions. This way we are able to ensure they all enjoy the training and attention that they deserve and provide all of our puppies with a great deal of personal attention, socialization, early imprinting, and exposure to new people, places and things.
