Front Page (about wikilogs.com)
Description
A wiki is a web-based writing environment which (a) make it really easy to do lots of linking across your various pages, and (b) uses some simple text formats to save you the trouble of writing [HTML] tags. Wiki was originally designed for teams to use as a collaborative writing environment, so that any team member could edit any page at any time; but this service makes you the only author of your site.
Weblog software makes it incredibly easy for you to add/edit notes many times a day. So in that sense a wiki is a weblog. But in a traditional wiki, new items become their own pages which you can't browse very easily. A wikilog uses a little programming to provide the content of those latest items on its front page.
I've been writing this way since February 2002, after various other experiments and 2 years of thinking about it. The key attractors to me were (a) the potential for keeping ideas around and (b) relating them to each other. And the potential for emergence/self-organization as both the content and links can be refined over time.
