White Rifles LLC (formerly Split Fire Sporting Goods LLC) was founded by Steve Brown in early 2001 to manufacture and market White Rifles, bullets, and accessories. Split Fire acquired key manufacturing expertise and personnel from Muzzleloading Technologies, Inc.®, which had been actively engaged in designing, developing and producing White Rifle muzzleloading firearms, bullets and accessories for over 5 years.
Dr. Gary White (Doc) has successfully designed, engineered and produced muzzleloading firearms, bullets and accessories for several different muzzleloading companies. Doc White designed the W Series rifles, pistols and shotguns and several Bullet and Accessory lines for White Systems, Inc., between 1970 and 1993. From the late 1960's to the mid 1980's he designed and engineered muzzleloading bullets and black powder as well as percussion side-lock and flint-lock Green River Rifles, which are still recognized as the finest traditional muzzleloading rifles ever!
Both Muzzleloading Technologies and White Rifles have extensive experience in designing firearms, and, in particular, muzzleloading firearms, as well as bullets and other hunting and shooting accessories. Working together, they have accomplished their greatest works. They pioneered in-line ignition systems for the use of musket caps. They provided the seed which lead Hodgden¨ Powder Company to develop the Pyrodex Pellet. And their latest work has been the development of a firearm design and engineering medium called MultiSystem Technology(TM) or MST(TM). This new way of designing, engineering and manufacturing firearms in general and muzzleloading firearms in particular, is patent pending and revolutionary. Their new muzzleloading designs have had a profound impact on the muzzleloading industry. Not only have their designs improved muzzleloading performance and safety while staying within the muzzleloading envelope, they have also captured the imagination of the consuming public which has intensified interest in muzzleloading hunting.
