Paul and Mary Archer are a mature couple who have had many pets throughout their lives. After careers in industry and local government they are now semi-retired and run the company from their home in Shrewsbury. They founded While You’re Away in 1995 as a result of a personal experience where they had difficulty in finding a petsitter for their elderly Golden Retriever when they needed to be away from home. They realised that many other people would have the same need.
