- Wesco Trailers was started in 1954 by Jack and Doris Furtick beside their house in Cayce South Carolina. Both Jack and Doris worked full time jobs and had people working building the trailers during the regular work week. Jack worked in the evenings and weekends either in the plant or out on the road selling. Doris worked evenings and weekends on the office work.
