Description

The Vision

It is all about learning. Education is more than a means to an end; it is a life-long process, limitless in its application to our lives. Here at Weimar College, we understand that a college education includes not only textbooks and classes, but the whole of life. As Christians, our definition of life's purpose is to know God (John 17:3); therefore, this education should be focused on comprehending God's character and applying it with our reality. Knowing this, we believe what is most important is not your head knowledge but what you have applied and put into practice in your own experience.

This educational philosophy has molded our curriculum. At Weimar we include three main categories in your learning experience: academics, work education, and Christian community service. Each course endeavors to break the surface of mere academia and to settle on a practical foundation. This practical foundation allows you to gain perspective on the subject and realize its connections to your other classes and your walk with God. These connections form the basis of a well-rounded education.

Learning takes on meaning when you can incorporate it into your everyday life. Work education is an opportunity to do just that. Through hands-on training in our varied work sites, you gain practical, teamwork and communication skills. These skills will serve you well when entering your chosen field.
