More than 45 years after its founding, the Peabody-Lynnfield Weekly News, formerly The Shoppers' News, has grown to become one of the largest weekly newspapers in Massachusetts and the largest town newspaper north of Boston. Although much has changed since 1957 the mission remains essentially the same: to deliver local news with integrity.
During the summer of 2002, the Peabody-Lynnfield Weekly News changed the class of mail under which it is mailed to more than 20,300 households and businesses each Thursday to a requested periodical.
This means every household in Peabody and Lynnfield that receives the Weekly News wants it delivered each Thursday. Our readers took the time to fill out a card and mail it back to us requesting free home delivery of the paper. More than 60,000 readers rely on the Weekly News for its coverage of local news events, insightful politcal scene updates, complete school system information, thorough local sports coverage and schedules, as well as wedding and birth announcements, classified listings, legal notices and real estate transactions.
