Description
I established the business in Sept 2000. It was born out of frustrated trying to get any tradesmen to carry out work on our 150 year old cottage. I decided to start the Odd Job Man to focus on all the areas where local tradesmen were failing.
For many years I had restored houses that we had lived in. In the latter part of my 15-year career in Sales and marketing my job took me abroad regularly. I needed therefore to rely on tradesmen for the upkeep of the cottage.
At best I could get an estimate for work. Very often the estimate would be far too high for the work required. Estimates would vary wildly. If however the estimate was accepted I could rarely pin the tradesman down to when the work would be carried out.
