Description
About WATSAC - Our club has its origins in the early days of British Diving. The Taunton Sub Aqua Club was registered as BS-AC Branch no. 10 in the spring of 1954. The Wellington SAC originated in 1970. The clubs joined forces and in 1994 the Wellington and Taunton Sub Aqua Club was formed. But enough of the History !
Club Equipment - We have invested heavily in training and have acquired enough equipment for training up to 14 novices. In 1996 the club won a lottery grant which enabled us to build our own 35 foot 'Offshore 105' hardboat which is now based in Plymouth. The boat has a 350hp inboard marine diesel engine and a large wheelhouse to accommodate everyone onboard. The club tries to maintain a busy and varied diving schedule catering for newly qualified divers and experienced divers looking for a challenge.
Club Meeting - We meet every Wednesday at the Trident Sports & Social Club in Taunton. WATSAC membership costs just £75 per year and a typical days diving on Dunribbin costs £15. If you'd like to find out more about us come along to one of our meetings or contact a member of the committee.
