Title
watergate.info - The Scandal That Destroyed President Richard Nixon
Description
It began in 1995 as the first material I ever published on the World Wide Web. At the time, I was teaching a unit on Watergate to Politics students in Melbourne.
Within months I found that I was receiving email from students, teachers and others from all round the world, particularly from the United States. The decision was soon made to expand the material.
I continue to add material to the site when I have the time. I was a high school student when Watergate began unfolding. I was at university when Nixon resigned. One of my lasting memories is of sitting in the lounge of my residential college watching Nixon deliver his televised resignation speech. It was mid-morning in Australia and I was joined only by one of the cleaning staff. She stood watching it with me and when Nixon had finished she picked up her cleaning equipment and left, saying: "He was unlucky - he got caught"!
