Title

WasteCap of Massachusetts, Inc.

Description

WasteCap of Massachusetts is the statewide, non-profit, public/private partnership working with the business community to develop and implement cost-effective programs for recycling, buying recycled, reuse, and waste reduction.

WasteCap was founded by the business community after the defeat of the controversial 1992 Massachusetts Packaging Initiative to demonstrate that the private sector could voluntarily and effectively reduce solid waste through the development and implementation of solid waste management programs.

Massachusetts businesses generate 55% of all municipal solid waste in the Commonwealth. WasteCap strives to minimize this environmental impact by providing free, voluntary programs to the private sector on recycling and waste reduction. Our staff members answer hundreds of technical assistance calls, promote services offered by innovative recycling and waste management firms in the Commonwealth, conduct site visits, and develop business recycling partnerships.
