History
Named for the Washington lode located there on September 7, 1879 by Stephen Van Camp, David Fayle, A. Potevin, Ed Walser, and Franklin F. Fisher. This was the first lode claim in the basin (Ridenour: Stories of early prospectors, miners and mines in Idaho's White Clouds).
