Description
The Flying Tigers Warbird Restoration Museum allows visitors a chance to see, smell and touch the history that many only heard about on newsreels in the forties or read about in the classrooms generations later. Here you can see the restoration process take place and the metamorphosis of these once forgotten hulks of history back to their former glory and then taken out to stretch their wings again right over the museum for all to see and hear!.
Tom Reilly has a true love of vintage aircraft which is evident in his museum. Tom has been heard to say, "All those clean, tidy and sterile museums you have seen in the past; well this isn't one of them. We even have some red hydraulic oil on the floor that we refer to as Bomber Blood and if you are lucky, you might get some on you to take home as a souvenir."
Here you will find the most experienced crew of versatile mechanics, sheet metal and paint artisans ever assembled in one place for the commercial restoration of W.W.II aircraft. Work is currently undergoing on Warbirds used by both the U.S. Army air corps and the Navy.
