The Halton Waldorf School offers internationally-resepcted Waldorf education from preschool through eighth grade. HWS was founded in 1984 and moved to its new building in January of 2000 on 5 acres next to environmentally protected woodland in NE Burlington. The school is in the heart of The Orchard community, only minutes away from the natural wonders of the Niagara Escarpment, Bronte Creek Provincial Park and the shores of Lake Ontario. The amenities and culture of Toronto are a half-hour drive away. The building itself is not overpowering, blending in harmoniously with its natural environment. The playground is a large grassy area with a brook running through it and surrounded by trees. Inside presents a calming environment.
HWS believes that the primary purpose of education is to give children the knowledge and thinking skills required to guide their lives toward success and happiness. HWS's philosophy is equally applicable to our 150+ students in KG through Gr 8 as well as our teachers.
