Wake Up American U.S.A., Inc. was officially started in January of 2005. However, the organization has been in the planning stages since late 2004. The organization was formed to help families and individuals who have suffer loss as the result of their loved ones involvement in defending America.
One of the first causes undertaken by the organization was helping Bob and Bonnie Eggle who lost their son Kris Eggle who was a park ranger assigned to the Organ Pipe National Park in Arizona. Kris was killed by a Mexican drug dealer who simply drove across the American/Mexican border. The killer shot Kris with an. AK37.
Wake Up America brought the Eggle's to Las Vegas in March 2005 and speak before a gathering of concerned citizens. The Eggle's were able to tell the group about their son and the conditions that lead to his death. They asked for financial support to help them tell their sons story.
