Wake Forest University
Wake Forest University is a private institution following liberal arts curriculum. It was founded on February 3, 1834, located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It was started by the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina as the Wake Forest Manual Labor Institution, for the betterment and benefit of the Baptist ministers and lay person. It was named so, because the administration and students were expected to put in manual effort around the estate. In 1839 it was renamed as Wake Forest College, and it remained closed for four years due to the American Civil War in 1862. The Wake Forest College progressed with time and established the School of Law in 1894, the School of Medicine in 1902, the Babcock Graduate School of Management in 1969, The James R. Scales Fine Arts Center in 1979 and the divinity school in 1999. In the later years the business and medical schools were renamed the Wayne Calloway School of Business and the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, respectively. With all these achievements, the institution was honored with the university status.
Reputation
It is ranked by the U.S. News as the 30th best undergraduate institution of the year 2007. The Calloway Business and Accountancy School was ranked 24th, in 2006 by the Business Week Undergraduate Business School Rankings. Its participation in the study-abroad programs brought it a ranking of fourth place.

Number of undergraduate student enrollment is about 4,394. Number of graduate students is about 2,373. The minority representation in the college is 1% American Indian/Alaskan Native, 3% Asian/Pacific Islander, 6% Black/Non-Hispanic and 2% Hispanic/Latino. For the students who want to live on campus the university has a big campus residence hall which accommodates about 3,075 students and also provides meal service. Types of residences include Men's Residence halls, Coed residence halls, and Institutional apartments, Sorority houses off campus, Women's residence halls and Fraternity houses off campus. The campus is always abuzz with many activities which include Academic Clubs, Television Station, Theatre/Drama, Choir, Concert Band, Newspaper, Orchestra, Religious, Sports/Intramurals, Gay and Lesbian, International, Political Activist, Honors/Academic:, Jazz Band, Minority Cultural, Student Government, Marching Band, Phi Beta Kappa, Pre-Medical, Minority Student, Pre-Law, Radio Station, Environmental, Literary Magazine and Yearbook.
Press
The university has a press which was established in 1976. It is a non-profit literary press located on the campus of the university. Although it is relatively small to other university presses the press is a major publisher of Irish poetry in the United States.

The website is quite simple and unique in design. The website provides information about different departments in the ‘Academics’. It also provides information about admissions, research, athletics, research, alumni, campus life, international studies, administration, news and publications, libraries, visitors and parents and university calendar on its homepage. There is a news bar on the right bringing in the latest university news and announcements. There is a information bar on the left which provides information on upcoming events. Although the website is not frequented as much as other top university websites it still has a reasonable traffic rank of 38,589.
