Title
Section W-1C
Description
In the national scheme of the Boy Scouts of America, the Order of the Arrow is an honor society into which only peer elected individuals can be admitted. The OA is geographically divided into four Regions, which are then divided into Areas. Within each Area there are what are called Sections. Each Section is made up by Lodges, which are based on the Council divisions that the BSA has made.
This website was created to serve the needs of Section W-1C. The original goal of the website was to just serve as a way to let members of the section know what was going on. As time has progressed, the site has evolved to allow better communication among people. The w1c mailing list was started to get information out to many people without needing them to make frequent visits to the website. Now the mailing list is also used as a way to discuss matters relating to the OA and the Section.
In the time that the site has been operational, the amount of information available on the site has grown. Within the next year there is a big addition that is being planned. Soon there will be a history of the conclaves that the section has held, going back to the days when Section W-1C was called Region 11C. There also are plans to list as many chiefs and advisers as possible. The only limits to these plans are a lack of information.
