Description
Marcia began her career in the business world, which, while rewarding in its own way, lacked a certain joy. A joy that can't be reproduced but must be discovered of its own accord. When she
moved to Wolcott, Vermont in 1970, Marcia found her niche and suddenly her world was overflowing with magnificent natural surroundings, which generated a joy of their own. It was then that she knew that she wanted to venture into the floral industry, but in what capacity she had yet to decide.
Marcia decided to attend Vermont Academy of Floral Design and there began her work with fresh and dried flowers. The competition was formidable, but she soon saw, through the gift of a friend, the best way to express her love of nature and beauty in her art. That first press was a small one, but when opened it for the first time and saw the perfectly preserved petals blooming in front of her, she knew that this was the medium with which she wanted to work. That was eleven years ago; today she owns thirty flower presses and boasts that they are full "from the time the forget-me-nots bloom in April until the last pansies smile at me in October."
